Confirmed 2: Pictures of internal Sprint documents have leaked indicating that the Sprint launch of the 16GB Galaxy Nexus will be April 22nd, 2012 for $199.99. Sprint plans to launch the LG Viper 4G LTE the same day.
UPDATED: Sprint will get 32GB, LTE variant of Galaxy Nexus. The device will also support Google Wallet, a feature missing from the Verizon version of the phone. Rumored price point is $299.99 on a 3 year contract.
Yesterday multiple sources reported that Sprint was advertising that their first superphone on their upcoming LTE network would be the Galaxy Nexus. The advertisement was quickly taken off the Internet, leading us to wonder whether it was legit or a mistake. As Sprint is not expected to roll out their LTE network until the beginning of Q3, it would be a long wait for the Ice Cream Sandwich device.
This is not the first instance we have seen in North America of providers waiting to launch the current “best Android phone” in conjunction with their upcoming LTE launches. In Canada we saw Bell Mobility come out the gate strong with exclusive right to the Galaxy S II, while Rogers did not start selling the LTE variant of the device until months later when their network launched in Toronto and Ottawa.
